Because many people don’t know the difference between an employee and a subcontractor, she starts off by defining both, emphasizing that knowing the difference can save your business from being fined or penalized for misclassification. The rules that are associated with employment are different for each state, but are seriously enforced in ALL states regardless of their differences.
