Jonathan Rice is a Junior Associate Attorney at the Cromeens Law Firm. Jonathan was born in San Angelo, TX, but he moved to Waco, TX, at a young age, where he lived until 2018. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Baylor University in 2014. Following undergraduate studies, he worked for McLennan County as a Juvenile Probation Officer for three years. Through his experiences working at the McLennan County Juvenile Probation Department, he developed an interest in the legal field and felt led to apply to law school. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law in May 2021 and received his license to practice law in Texas in April 2022.

After his first year of law school, Jonathan clerked for Judge Ruben Reyes presiding in the 72nd District Court in Lubbock, TX. During law school, he worked for the law firm Rogers, Morris, & Grover as a law clerk providing legal research and writing for real estate and construction litigation. Additionally, he served as a law clerk for The Woodlands Township and provided legal support and research to the Township attorney.

Jonathan is married to his beautiful wife, Mary, with two dogs, Maddie and Cooper. When he is not practicing law, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, playing basketball, and cheering on Baylor University football and basketball.

  • Collected millions of dollars for subcontractors and material suppliers before and through litigation.
  • Filed more than a thousand lawsuits to foreclose or remove mechanic’s liens, with several of those being tried to a jury.
  • Defended hundreds of subcontractors when they have been sued on their subcontract.
  • Reviewed numerous subcontracts, and advised subcontractors on changes and negotiated better terms on their behalf.
  • Managed to build a thriving, growing, and diverse firm that is focused on the subcontractor and construction litigation from the ground up.
